REVO, the range of high-performance sunglasses manufactured by the Luxottica Group, is proud to have accompanied Angelo d’Arrigo on his extraordinary expedition to Everest.
Once again, REVO lived up to its reputation as being the ideal partner whenever top-quality, totally reliable products are a must. It is no coincidence that REVO is a synonym for a cutting-edge performance, as its name comes from the term ‘REVOLUTIONARY’.
Besides their protective, enveloping design they offer, REVO glasses are manufactured using the exclusive Revo Light Management System (LMS). Designed in 1985, it is the result of a 25,000,000 dollar study carried out by Optical Engineer Mitch Ruda, who applied the special coatings developed by NASA to protect satellite portholes from outer space radiation to sunglass lenses.
‘Futuristic’ technology which functions like a visual equalizer makes it possible to filter the undesirable, damaging intensity of light, and only transmit the part which is most beneficial to the user’s eyesight. The lens guarantees total protection against ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) rays, as well as the blue light which blurs our perception of colour. This technology is essential for facing extreme climatic and environmental conditions.
Moreover, the exclusive, iridescent, multilayered coating controls luminous intensity; the anti-reflective multiple coating cuts the glare which affects the inside of the lenses down to a minimum; and the quartz and polysiloxane make the lenses scratchproof.
The unusual, and indeed exclusive, technology of the H2O polarized lens means it performs well in all climates and light conditions. An extremely thin film of dischroic crystals eliminates the unpleasant glare caused by grass, water or snow, thus protecting the user’s eyes against irritation and weariness.
