In the beginning there was enthusiasm galore, lots of ideas and the ALPINA brand name. That was back in 1980 when Werner Grau, together with Hagen Stockklausner and Rolf Obermeier, launched the business in Friedberg-Derching near Augsburg (Germany).
Today, ALPINA is a leader in the market of sports and sunglasses and, with snow goggles, the number one in Germany.
