The problem is that these ophthalmic shops do not work in frames that have an 8 or 9 base curve for the Rx lens. That's why they end up breaking multiple lenses or even your frame while trying to make your prescription wrap sunglasses.
Nearly all of the prescriptions we make are for specialty wrap frames for a sleek fit that will keep the wind and debris out of your eyes. Most wrap frames are difficult to cut lenses with the amount of curve that wraps around for a snug fit. That is where our process has eliminated the competition and we can get you what you need!
What we do differently:
When most labs cut lenses, the "bevel," or the part of the lens that the frame holds on to, is located on the front of the lens. So the lens thickness is behind the face of the frame. This method on a popular frame that wraps creates a fishbowl effect, which almost guarantees poor vision. We all like to go to the carnival, but a fun house mirror is not the desired effect when it comes to your daily vision. Ideally your lenses should be parallel with the front of your eyes for the best visual acuity.
When we cut lenses, the bevel is different. On the temporal (or outside) edge, we place the bevel on the rear of the lens, pushing it forward beyond the front of the frame. This allows the lens to sit in a parallel position, much more conducive to clear, undistorted vision. This custom product has a distinctive look that cannot be reproduced by any other lab. The look is cutting edge technology and is unique as the individual that they are made for. You will not be limited in the sports that you pursue, nor will we be afraid to take on any prescription.
